
1. Ghost hunting nights shall be organised by the founder participants of GI5. If any member wishes to organise a ghost hunting night under the GI5 name, they shall first require permission from the founder participants. All correspondence should be through the GI5 email address for participants' data protection.
2. In general, ghost hunting nights will be organised at locations which already have organised evenings running and therefore their own insurance. However, GI5 also have their own public liability insurance with Events Insurance Services LTD. Cover is up to a maximum of £5m and for up to 15 events per year with less than 250 participants present at one time. There is an excess £250 per claim. The insurance does not cover participants’ equipment or any damage to a venue caused by a member of GI5. Any such occurrence will be dealt with by the venue and the member involved NOT GI5. All participants are liable for their own actions during ghost hunting events.
3. GI5 takes no responsibility for loss or damage to any person or their possessions, travelling to or from and at a ghost hunting night or any occurrence before or after the night, which could be seen as in direct relation to the evening. (This includes any physical or spiritual possessions).
4. GI5 takes no responsibility of any occurrence during a ghost hunting night. Additionally GI5 takes no responsibility if no paranormal events are witnessed during a ghost hunting evening.
5. GI5 takes no responsibility for the damage to any property at the locations at the ghost hunting nights. This responsibility lies with GI5 member personally and all participants should take care not to damage any property at any location visited. Repayment for any such damage shall be dealt with between the member responsible and the location.
6. All participants on a GI5 Group night should be courteous to all other participants at all times.
7. All participants on a GI5 Group night should respect the property of all other participants at all times.
8. All participants on a GI5 Group night in attendance of a GI5 ghost night must respect that the participants must be as quiet as possible and respect other participants that may be holding vigils in other rooms at the location.
9. GI5 holds the right to any evidence collected on a GI5 ghost hunting night, which includes photographs, videos, DVDs, EVPs etc. GI5 may use any footage caught on the night in any of their publications. In signing these rules you give GI5 the right to use your images in any of their publications. (i.e. Website, DVD and Newsletter).
10. The price of each GI5 Group ghost night will differ depending on the location. It is possible that the price for some evenings shall be a fixed fee, which will be divided by all participants attending the night. Other nights may be a fixed price per person irrespective of numbers attending the night.
11. All participants on a GI5 Group night are required to adhere to the rules of the venue, which will be communicated to participants by the founder participants at the beginning of every event.
12. All participants on a GI5 Group night at their own risk and should inform the named first aider of any relevant medical conditions before the start of the event.
13. During a GI5 Group hunt participants shall be split into groups. These shall be headed by a suitably experienced team leader who is in charge of the group participants during the evening.
14. Participants must arrive to the event on time; any member arriving late will only be allowed to enter the location during official break times or at founder participant’s discretion.
15. All participants must carry a torch with them at all times during the ghost hunt.
16. Participants must stay with their allocated groups at all times during vigils and listen to and obey their team leader.
17. Smoking is only permitted within designated areas at the location.
18. No member is to arrive to the location intoxicated or to consume alcohol during the Ghost Hunt event.
19. There is no running or horseplay within the venue.
20. All participants must turn off their mobile phone at the start of the Ghost Hunt and keep it turned off during the event.
21. No member should touch any of the locations displays and exhibitions unless asked to do so by the locations representatives or founder member. Also some areas may be out of bounds to participants (for example museum display areas) and participants must respect these boundaries.
22. If any member is seen in breach of these rules during a ghost night they shall be asked to leave the location and forfeit their payment.
23. All Health and safety issues for the location will be verbally communicated at the start of the event.
24. All participants will be advised of any change to these club rules.
