While on holiday in Edinburgh, we were lucky enough to have a private show around parts of the famous Edinburgh vaults. The time was around 10am it was a dry bright 24 degrees outside (Yes, it was dry and sunny in Scotland) But below the streets Edinburgh it was a different story it was extremely dark, musty and damp.
As soon as we entered we got a feeling that things were not right. It wasn’t long till things started. We heard movement, witnessed shadows and the most bizarre of all was around 15 mins in to the walk around, two different people turned as they hear a noise only to see what they both thought to be a person running past them heading to the next room. Both went to investigate but nothing, not a sole was around. At first we thought that it could have been someone on a tour or even one of the Mercat Staff, but to get in to he vaults there was only one entrance.
We also heard lots of noises, we attributed them down to sounds travelling from the street above and other vaults of which a lot of other business use above and around this Vault.
As all good ghost hunters we thought we would return later on in the day to see if we saw and hear the same things but this time we witnessed a image (shadow like) of someone running through the group with a lantern again we follow and again nothing at the end... We here a GI5 believe that this is just the start of what could be one of the most haunted places in the UK, we looking into visiting the Edinburgh vaults in 2008 for one big investigation if you feel that you like to join us then email us a members@gi5.co.uk .
